The Center for Carbon Research and Solutions (CCRS) was launchedon August 7, 2023, declaring Taiwan’s entry to the global carbon trading market.

In order to conduct systematic research on investments in net-zero emission, technology innovations, international system building and alignment with Taiwan, and to provide consulting services and learning courses, the National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) established the “Center for Carbon Research and Solutions”.
CCRS is committed to researching, collecting urgent questions from domestic industries, providing practical solutions, and assisting the government to design systems and regulations for carbon trading.

Establishment Background

CCRS is established and financially supported by the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) and the peripheral institutions including Taipei Exchange, Taiwan Futures Exchange, and Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation. The main purpose is to enhance net-zero emission and circular economy of domestic industries and public sectors, as well as to assist in developing Taiwan’s net-zero circular economy systems and technologies.

Core Mission

Environment sustainability is the main focus of CCRS. With collaborations between local academic research units, public sectors and industries, CCRS aims to promote carbon pricing policies, carbon asset management, greenhouse gas management and reduction strategies, and to hold learning courses, meetings and forums on carbon neutral issues.
